I had a 1.5TB RAID0 array (two disks) that died on me some months back with approximately 1TB of personal data for my OSX-based system. I was exasperated and bummed that this had happened - especially with a NEW drive that I'd used for backups!

After calling around to at least half a dozen different recovery vendors, I opted to send my drive into ITS primarily because of an extended phone conversation I had with Dan Strizich.

Unfortunately, I heard today from Dan my RAID0 configured drive(s) appear too toasted to recover more than an unknown 60GB slice of my original TB+ of data.

While I don't know if anyone else could have recovered the entire OSX formatted drive or not, I DO know that responsibility for this data debacle is completely my own for having been so bone-headed as to use RAID0 for an external drive serving as a BACKUP drive....DOH! *&K#$)*&@

I've learned my lesson....and ordered an 8-drive, 12TB RAID NAS that can tolerate complete failures from ANY TWO drives and which will hopefully keep me from ever losing ANY data (much less a TB!) due to physical drive failures.

That said, should I ever need to use or recommend a drive recovery service, I'd still recommend ITS as a short-list candidate for any such work.

I was desperate to retrieve my data when my LaCie drive failed. I was a nervous wreak. But in one day they salvaged 100% of my photos and files. I am very appreciative for Dan and the knowledgeable staff at I.T.S. They recovered all the data off my "clicking" Lacie, saving years of work that could not have been replaced. I have already spoken well of them to friends and associates in order to save them the pitfalls of dealing with people who will take their money and not produce. In the murky world of data recovery, I.T.S. is very user friendly.

As a wedding photographer, I rely on technology to capture and retain the events of, obviously, crucial pictures. When one of our memory cards failed, I found ITS on google and called immediately. I was upset and nervous about the situation, but ITS was so helpful.
1. They answered the phone on the 2nd ring. No *press 1 for harddrives, *press 2 for memory card BS.
2. Dan did not promise me that he could get the images back, however, he was reassuring that it happens and most of the time, they are recoverable.
3. He told me the price up front, but said that he wasn't sure until he looked at it and that I wouldn't pay if they couldn't recover the images. This made me feel great. Obviously, they had to be able to do it to maintain their business. Also he gave me clear shipping instructions.
4. He called me the next afternoon with the news that he had recovered my images. :) Yeah. Well done.
5.Paid with credit card over the phone. Very easy.
6. Received photos 3 business days later at my address. They received them Friday and I got them Wednesday. Turnaround in less than a week.

Overall, I was very pleased with their customer service and with the end result of getting my pictures. They recovered over 350 images and charged $250 plus shipping. Less than $1 an image. Totally worth it. We looked into buying a recovery software online for much less, however, because of the nature/value of the images we decided not to chance it. Dan had mentioned that we could do that but the more we messed with it, the more likely the possibilty of losing the images for good.
Don't risk it. Send it to Dan.
