The material is great - communication with teachers and my son are also great. I had dropped a class for him over the phone and that information didn't make it to the online process so he was getting an email that he was not doing well in that class. A second call rectified the issue. We're still waiting on 2 other classes to come on board and looking forward to those.

To date we are very happy with Sean's GPA. While not yet up to snuff it is much better than public school was in the recent past. We expect to see further improvement as he becomes more adept at the system. That he is taking a greater interest and effort with lessons please me to no end. His personality is also reaping a benefit as he has become more personable in his daily attitude towards family. I think as time goes on his improvement academically is assured. Presently he rises at 5:00 am and runs a mile then showers and begins class around 5:30. Quite often he has finished by 10:30 to 11:00. Everyone we have talked to has been extremely helpful, and has even gone out of their way considerably to help us out, and make everything come together in time. I am a parent of a student Valerie Smith.
As her Father I would like to make a few observations and request that a represetative of the school contact me. I will make this request directly to the school also if this is not the right forum for this.
I find that the courses are good and the tests are well thought out. The quality of the information is also good and the teachers are personable to the extent that this is possible. It would be good that the teacher show by their comments on assignments and such, a little more interest in the individual students. It seems that the feedback is just enough to make the student feel that they are really not known to the teacher as an individual.
My daughter is in her 1st year of homeschooling and 10th grade in high school. She has become addicted to the social network and the chat. She spends 1 hour of school work compared to 2 hours of networking solely on the schools' site. Add to that the customizing of her page and she is easily sidetracked and accomplishes little. I realize that the control of this should be mine but that would entail being next to her the whole time. Not an option. Also the amount of work that she needs to accomplish for the year seems to be difficult to find out. A point we need to know after our completeing 1 month at this point.
Is it possible to control from your end the time she is Socializing? Can just the chat be blocked? Is there a page that displays the assignments for the whole year?
