So far, my dog Sam has done well with the training we received in the really reliable recall class. The defining moment came today when we encountered a leashed German Shepherd on our unleashed walk in the woods. Sam started to run over to him but I called "now!" He turned and looked at me, hesitated, turned to the dog again. I repeated the recall and he turned around and came to me to get his treat (and his leash).

The Barr children love PDX, as does their mom. Paddy II can be his shy self and feel safe. He appreciates Angie understanding that he wants to be an only child. Lulu can mother everyone and be mothered in turn. And Fergus? What can I say? Ever since Nancy decided his attitude was too big for the small dog yard, he has gradually learned from patient guides how to not be so "full of it." Thanks, Leanne.

PDX has been a lifesaver for us! When we first got Lily (AKA Little Lily), we had no idea how much energy she would have. A piece of furniture and a shoe later, we decided doggie day care was the best choice for her to release her energy. PDX was recommended to us, and we have never looked back! Lily loves to go to "school" and enjoys getting her extra attention and love at day care. She also enjoys trying to out run the whippets! Great thanks to Bea, bev, Nancy and Angie, and all the rest of the loving and devoted staff.

PDX has been a lifesaver for me. Before discovering this wonderful place, I'd come home from work wanting to relax. My two pomeranians had other ideas, though. They wanted to play. After starting them in daycare at PDX the dogs were just as tired as I was at the end of our day.

The people at PDX are knowledgable, helpful, and caring. They care, not only for the dogs, but for the owners too.

I've used a couple other places for boarding, but not any more. No place compares to PDX. Keep it up, guys. You are awesome!

PDX is the best with dogs and their humans. Without the care, advice, training and moral support, I would not have been able to keep my treasured, but energetic, Sally Belle. Sally Belle sees PDX and staff as a second home and family. Me, too.

If that were not enough, the staff and Sally Belle brought Copper into my home. Copper was a rescue getting recoup time at PDX. Sally Belle fell in love with Copper at daycare and the staff supported her choice. We are now a family of three and the better for it.

I've been impressed with the service orientation of the business and with the polite and gracious manner each two-legged and four-legged guest is treated. All requests, large or small, is given full attention and consideration. As examples, my dogs' shyness, food allergies, the wiggles and failure to come have all been attended to by the staff with positive results using the most gentle of touches and training techniques.

And, PDX has supported and helped train my dog for the sports of agility, rally and flyball even though my dog and I don't compete.

PDX is No. 1 in my book and gets the top "paw" rating from Copper and Sally Belle. In my next life, I hope I come back as a dog that goes to Play Dog Excellent.
