I met Dolly when I was attending a biannual conference at the College of Charleston at the end of May 2008, of the Association for the Study of Esotericism where I presented a paper on the theme of "religion, nature and esotericism." Spending almost the whole morning in the shop the day before the conference, listening to Dolly sharing her fantastic knowledge about rugs and her infectious enthusiasm, was a delightful precursor and wonderful complement to my academic activities, making my stay even more memorable and enjoyable than it would otherwise have been.
Living in the UK, I have met many professional rug dealers here, but Dolly's sincerity and generosity of spirit is quite unique.
Naturally enough I took a modest bundle of wonderful tribal items back with me to England, and should I ever find myself in Charleston again, the shop would be my first port of call.
It is a pure pleasure to do business in such a relaxed and sophisticated way. My only regret is that I had no time to talk to her husband, whom I only met before leaving for the airport, as I should have valued listening to his experiences and ideas immensely.
Thank you both for your hospitality and inspiration, and I wish you every success in this wondrous ethnic woven world you are evidently so beautifully suited to, and that so perfectly graces and engages our deepest and most intimate aesthetic sensibilities. My wife calls me a "rugaholic". I truly appreciate the beauty of oriental rugs and have a large collection of rugs.

Dolly and Khoury rugs is the best rug store I have ever dealt with. The prices are very fair and the selection in great. I am constantly upgrading my collection and Khoury gets an excellent selection of high quality old and antique rugs, better than can be found elsewhere.

I recommend a visit to Khoury's whether you are looking for a new, old or antique rugs, their selection is great and they are wonderful people to deal with.

My decorator (Margie Tillotson) suggested Khoury's when I needed a rug for my family room that did not conform to the "usual" size and color combinations. Jay and Elie worked with us to select yarn colors, size and pattern. They sent us a color rendering of what the finished product would look like for approval; kept in touch with us all through the process; and delivered a beautiful rug well within the promised time frame. I was very pleased with the experience and the rug!

We have just completed building a new home on Kiawah Island.The interior designs and finishings were centered around Khoury Oriental rugs in most all rooms of this three story project.We worked very closely with Elie Herro,Khoury General Manager,whose excellent suggestions brought each area to life.We were amazed at Khoury's large inventory,the great quality of their rugs and the interesting history of every piece explained in wonderful detail by Elie.The entire experience was really fun and,of course, very satisfying.
